After countless journeys through time, circumstances obliged Mansara to make her home here, in our Twenty-First Century. To make her way in this world she devotes herself to filling it with song. She finds her inspiration in everything: every-day life, music, painting, fine cinema and history. Mansara toys with amalgamations of melodies from varying influences: pop, electronica, jazz, soul and others from all around the globe. She tells us of her adventures, her encounters, of anger, doubt, nostalgia and the simple joys of living.

IN THE BEGINNING
Mansara hails from an alternate 19th Century, a timeline where gender equality has been the norm for years and where ethnic racism is an absurd and shocking concept studied only in History of Parallel Universes.
But it is no paradise, by any means. Merchants do a brisk trade in arms; everyone takes the law into their own hands; and lawmen don’t know where to turn.
Mansara was born in Reims on May 12th at 3:40 in the afternoon.
Like many little girls, she began at the age of six with a bit of ballet. It was around then that her mother introduced her to Chopin and so began her love affair with music.
She took her first singing lesson—almost by accident—at age nine, with the opera singer Marie Cornélie Falcon, whom she still calls Cornélia. But it was the words of her dear friend Lewis Carroll that filled her with the courage to commit herself to her passion… Repeating to herself the refrain, “Ma chére Mansara! Be what you would seem to be!,” she came into her own.
She owes her wanderlust and her mixing of different influences to her own heritage: daughter of a nurse of bohemian ancestry and a jack-of-all-trades from the Ivory Coast.
She has the semblance of a ballerina mechanic and loves facing the seemingly impossible.
